First Aid for the Countryside and Scouts

The program is designed to provide certified knowledge in First Aid for remote areas based on the program Boy Scouts of American Wilderness First Aid and ESCI Wilderness First Aid.

The program leads to the acquisition of an internationally recognized certificate from the Emergency Care and Safety Institute (ECSI), a worldwide reputable organization, partner of the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) and of the American Academy of Orthopeadic Surgeons (AAOS), two of the most renowned medical institutions in the world. The program is also recognized by the scouts.

The program is suitable for scouts, travelers and people who work in the countryside.
This program, through theoretical and practical training as well as the use of interactive materials, aims to:

- train the participant in the use of First Aid for remote areas so they can be able to properly respond in emergency situations

- teach the participant what to expect or how to respond in an emergency and offer proper care.
- Introduction to First Aid for remote areas (moral and legal issues, psychological and emotional issues, traveler’s medical insurance)

- Response in emergency situations

- Casualty assessment and urgent care

- Care of bleeding, wounds and burns

- Splinting and bandaging

- Head and face injuries

- Common injuries, injuries of the bones and muscles

- Injuries that require specialized knowledge

- Cardiac emergencies and internal bleeding

- Respiratory emergencies

- Neurological emergencies

- Abdominal emergencies

- Diabetic emergencies and allergic reactions

- Problems in the urinary system

- Natural and environmental hazards

- Poisons, toxins and poisonous plants

- Animal, human and snake bites

- Insect and arthropods bites and stings

- Emergencies in water

- Basic Cardiopulmonary

- Resuscitation

- First Aid equipment and supplies

- Water purification

- Fluid and electrolyte replacement

- Improving the chances of survival
The program’s duration is 16 hours.

At the end of the seminar the participants are tested in multiple choice questions.
